Lola Boix

Acupuncturist

East Dulwich

Lola Boix started her career in alternative medicine as a shiatsu practitioner in 1994, which enabled her to gain valuable, hands-on experience in treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. She went on to study acupuncture at Westminster University, from where she graduated in 2000.

After graduating, Lola spent seven years working at the Gateway clinic in London, where she would see four patients per hour, referred by the GP. This gave her the opportunity to gain extensive experience and knowledge of a very wide range of complaints, including headaches, migraines, musculoskeletal, digestive, gynaecological, respiratory, immune, and psychological disorders, as well as cancer and chemotherapy.

Lola has a successful private practice in South East London, with clinics in Brixton, Dulwich and Forest Hill. Since 2000, she has also been practising at Dulwich Medical Centre, where she sees patient, suffering from various complaints. She takes a holistic approach to her treatment, and her very warm and empathetic manner will make you feel instantly at ease. Lola has undertaken further specialised studies in infertility, pregnancy, menopause, digestive disorders, cupping, electro acupuncture, musculoskeletal (back and joint pain), nutrition, Bach flower essences, Qi and natural healing amongst others, and she is always keeping up-to-date with the latest research. Integrating Chinese medicine with all of her knowledge to achieve the best outcome for the patient, she aims to address the root cause of the problem that the patients are presenting with, and so provide a more effective treatment.

Lola has particular interest and experience in treating infertility and pregnancy and works closely with a midwife. She has been responsible for the running of stress groups and drug and alcohol groups for Transport for London (TFL) since 2000 as well as various detox clinics in London. Whilst using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and 5 element acupuncture techniques in her treatment, Lola may also use other treatments, such as cupping, moxibustion, ear acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and Guasha treatments, as well as nutrition advice. She enjoys and practises Qi-gong and meditation, loves gardening and being with nature. As a full member of the British Acupuncture Council body, she guarantees the highest standard of training, care and professionalism.
