Patrizia Gaio
Acupuncturist and Tui Na Practitioner
Monument
My journey in the Daoist Arts started almost 20 years ago with Qigong. While practicing with Damo Mitchell, founder of Lotus Neigong International, I studied Chinese medicine at the Xian Tian college, which is a branch of Lotus Neigong International and part of its self-cultivation programme. The 3-year diploma included the energetic aspects of the practitioner’s cultivation and needling techniques alongside the more conventional teachings of TCM and Classical Channel theory. Qigong is a significant part of my approach to health and an integral component of my therapeutic sessions. I graduated as a practitioner of Chinese medicine and I am trained to provide Acupuncture, Tui na, Moxibustion, Gua Sha and Cupping.
I went on to study Advanced Tui na with Sarah Pritchard, further developing my sensitivity and understanding. I now use Tui na, either as a stand-alone therapy or in conjunction with Acupuncture, both as therapeutic and diagnostic tool.
My interest in Classical Chinese Medicine lead me to study with Ann Cecil-Sterman. Her mentorship programme opened up my practice to completely new sets of channels, expanding exponentially the effectiveness and the range of my treatments. They include musculoskeletal, chronic and degenerative, trauma and emotional conditions-each treated with separate and dedicated set of channels that belong to the oldest Classical tradition.
Chinese medicine is holistic in its approach. My clinical sessions are supported by dietary and life style advice and exercises, which can to be carried out on a daily basis from home, to enhance the results of the therapy, set up healthier habits and bring consciousness into the healing process. I am committed to helping find solutions and strategies that apply to each person’s needs and conditions, and have seen amazing transformations in my clients body and mind after some consistent work together.
I have a particular interest in treating gynaecological diseases such as endometriosis and PCOS, as well as male and female infertility, and I have supported many couples and individuals on both natural and assisted fertility journeys. My approach to fertility resonates with the methods outlined above. I help women to connect to their nature and deepen their awareness of how the mind/body connection affects the flow of their Menstrual cycle. I provide information regarding diet and lifestyle, in support for each stage of the cycle, and guidance including emotional support with dedicated treatments and exercises. The harmonisation of the menstrual cycle is fundamental for fertility and the preparation for a healthy pregnancy. I am also committed to supporting my patients through their pregnancy to birth.
